To allow more people to come to the Festival we aren’t booking singles in double or twin rooms. (In the unlikely event that there is capacity we will make available empty double rooms for singles wishing to upgrade – let us know if you want to be on this wait list. This will only be announced on the day of the Festival to allow for late bookings, and Croydon Hall’s single supplement charge will apply. )
Life will of course partner you with the perfect person! And we often hear how much fun people find the experience of larger shared rooms, sometimes to their surprise J.
- Shared rooms are single sex. Any self-confessed snorers are roomed together where possible!
- Our venue has an 11pm loud-noise curfew to respect nearby neighbours, and doesn’t allow camper vans, or dogs.
- The food will be gourmet vegetarian, avoiding gas-forming foods. Special diets are available – see booking form. (If you need to arrive late or leave early, we regret that we can’t give refunds on the all-inclusive price).
* ‘Conc.’ is a UK term for reductions given to people in receipt of government welfare payments, or living on a state pension.
Spa
Croydon Hall has a wonderful spa with a hot tub, infra red sauna, Swedish sauna, steam room, and float tank. It will be open at set times to allow for cleaning and laundering of towels. (Last year it was open during every meal break). The price is a super-reasonable £3 per person, or £5 if you’re the only one who signs up for that session. The float tank is charged separately and is again very good value (approx £18). Croydon Hall also has an outdoor pool, which is heated by a land pump, meaning the water temperature varies according to the recent weather.
The only extras you will have to pay for separately (paid to Croydon Hall on your departure) are personal telephone calls, float tank / spa & sauna use, and any food & accommodation outside the festival dates (rooms can be extended to include Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th – email Bliss@wayoftheheartfestival.com for info).
What to bring
Layered clothing is helpful as the temperature can vary both indoors and out; we recommend something warm for the evenings; and remember your swimwear for the pool and sauna (optional). Room and sauna towels are provided.
A selection of both Way of Mastery Pathway and St Germain books, CDs and DVDs will be for sale at the festival. Payment for these is by cash or credit card only (no cheques).
Travel
We offer full support for overseas visitors wondering about which airport to fly into, how to travel onwards to the venue, and even how to find good value flights.
Please email Wendy at Wendy@wayoftheheartfestival.com, or call her on 01626 773195 / 07850 207300 You can also see www.croydonhall.co.uk and this website’s travel forum for full travel advice.
We recommend using www.kayak.com to search for flights to Heathrow or Bristol airport, using the ‘variable dates’ feature to get the best fare.
Currency conversions can be done at www.xe.com/ucc
We recommend booking train tickets through www.thetrainline.com or www.nationalrail.co.uk. (The former is an easier system to use; it charges a £1 booking fee). Rail fares are considerably cheaper when booked in advance, and most expensive when booked at the time of travel. Two singles is often cheaper than a return.
Any cross-London journeys can be planned at www.tfl.gov.uk/journeyplanner.
Bliss and Wendy will help to coordinate rides to the venue wherever possible, and we encourage you to post requests and offers of taxi shares from Taunton Stationon on the Festival Travel Forum – click here to visit the forums now. There is bus info also posted on the forum for those preferring to travel on to the venue from Taunton Station by bus.
We would also love to hear from people in the South East and South West who are willing to host overseas visitors for a day or two before or after the Festival – some will want to arrive early to get over jet lag, or stay later and to take in the sights of London or Glastonbury, etc.
Timings
The festival begins at 6.30pm with dinner, opening circle & an evening event on Thursday August 25th. You are welcome to arrive from 4pm (not earlier please!). If you are an international arrival coming from an airport and do need to arrive early, please tell Bliss and we will ask Croydon Hall to prioritise making up your room.
The spa & saunas will be open for bookings from 4.30-6pm; dinner is at 6.30pm; & the opening circle is at 8.00pm.
The closing circle follows breakfast on Monday 29th, finishing around 11.30am.
You are welcome to stay on extra nights, paid direct to Croydon Hall. Ask Bliss for prices (Bliss@wayoftheheartfestival.com / tel 01635 45861). The closing day is a public holiday so many will prefer to travel on Tuesday or even Wednesday. (Ashamarae will be offering a Violet Flame Ceremony & Activation at Glastonbury on Tuesday 30th – see www.awakeningfromwithin.com for full info.)
Croydon Hall has very patchy mobile phone reception for most networks. Please minimise people’s expectations of contact with you, and reallly give yourself space to let go!
The EMERGENCY contact number for you to give out if necessary is +44 1984 642200.
There is wi-fi available, however we recommend that you tell people you’re on retreat, and fully relax into this amazing experience…
We look forward to welcoming you! ♥
Blessings,
Sarita
